Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Spice 75 different from a traditional French 75?

The Spice 75 incorporates a spiced syrup made with allspice, which adds a warm and aromatic flavor profile that contrasts with the traditional French 75's lemon and gin base. This unique twist enhances the cocktail's complexity and makes it more suitable for colder seasons.

Can I use a different type of rum in the Spice 75?

Yes, you can experiment with different types of rum such as spiced rum or dark rum to alter the flavor of the Spice 75. Each type will bring its own unique characteristics, with spiced rum enhancing the warm spice notes and dark rum adding richness.

Is there a non-alcoholic version of the Spice 75?

You can create a non-alcoholic version by replacing the rum with a non-alcoholic rum alternative or simply using a mix of soda water and a bit of fruit juice for flavor. The spiced syrup can still be used to maintain the warm spice notes without the alcohol.

What is the best way to garnish a Spice 75?

The ideal garnish for a Spice 75 is an orange spiral, which adds a citrus aroma that complements the drink's flavors. To create the spiral, use a vegetable peeler to cut a thin strip of orange peel and twist it over the drink before placing it on the rim.

How can I adjust the sweetness of the Spice 75?

To adjust the sweetness, you can modify the amount of spiced syrup you add to the cocktail. If you prefer a less sweet drink, start with a smaller amount of syrup and taste before adding more. Additionally, using a drier champagne can also reduce the overall sweetness.
